After various distractions such as raising my children, making and selling pottery, gaining a BA Hons degree with The Open University and writing short stories for women’s magazines, my passion for painting was reignited following a move from Bristol to the South Hams in 2015.
Inspired by the contrasting soft and vibrant colours in this part of the country, I love to paint the sea and sunlight on sails and water in particular, attempting to capture the subtle and the bold, the calm, the rage, the serene and the uplifting spirit and mood of this exciting subject. I also enjoy painting abstracts and semi-abstracts, exploring with texture and discovering new ways of seeing.
In addition to seascapes I have also sold landscapes, still lifes and commissioned portraits or people and animals!
I am a full member of the Salcombe Art Club and exhibit and there, at the Harbour Houseas and several other local outlets.
